We are delighted to open the first phase of our Terrace House restoration with our Tea Room at Pearse Lyons Distillery.
Three beautifully reinstated town houses from the turn of the 20 Century, numbered 118-120, sit proudly in front of the distillery on James’s Street, Dublin 8. The Lyons family have carefully restored and transformed these three ‘Dutch Billy’ style houses into three floors of exciting new experiences. The first of which is The Tea Room at Pearse Lyons Distillery.
The theme of the Tea Room takes a step back in time and focuses on the almost forgotten industries of Dublin’s Liberties. The walls are decked in images of Jacob’s Biscuit Factory, Winstanley’s Boot Factory and the Brewing and Distilling industry dating from the early 1800s. Images of the famous Hanlon’s bar and Paddy Hanlon, now called McCann’s, take pride of place on the old chimney breast.
The tranquil space is a wonderful place to relax before or after a tour and tasting experience at the distillery. The Tea Room serves a selection of teas and coffees, freshly baked cakes and scones, each served with our very own Pearse Irish Whiskey jam, butter and fresh cream.
We are delighted to team up with Lisa Turner owner of Pompous Pantry who created the outstanding menu and the exclusive Pearse Irish Whiskey cherry jam.
Hailing from a family of foodies and a grandfather who was a baker, Lisa said “if she wasn’t eating as a child, then she was watching cooking programmes on TV”.
“Getting up every day to do what I love is amazing. Creating dishes and playing with flavours, showcasing all the fantastic ingredients produced in Ireland. I feel lucky to partner with Pearse Lyons Distillery because the team understand a quality product takes time and care”, said Lisa.
“Every item in the Tea Room is made by hand, in small batches to ensure it’s of the highest quality. The distillery is the very definition of boutique and I aim to create unique foods to meet their customers high expectations, leaving them with a taste for quality Irish food to match their quality spirits”.
The Tea Room at Pearse Lyons Distillery is open to the public seven days a week. Why not stop by for a coffee and scone or a gluten/dairy free orange almond cake. Bookings are also available for Afternoon Tea, for more information contact firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01 6916000.
