When we first opened in the summer of 2017, we had four Pearse Irish Whiskeys fresh to the market. Our signature collection included The Original, Distiller’s Choice, Founder’s Choice and Cooper’s Select, all bottled at 42% and all with a unique flavour profile. There is only a very small amount of Batch #001 bottles of each type still in existence and currently no longer available for individual sale.

Father’s Day is fast approaching and it’s time to start thinking of a simple gift that will put a smile on your Dad’s face. Here at Pearse Lyons Distillery we have got you covered for the perfect Father’s Day gift. If your ‘auld lad’ is a fan of ‘the whiskey’, or history for that matter, a visit to the distillery is the perfect excuse to spend some quality time together. With that in mind we’ve created an exclusive Pearse Whiskey Experience for two for only €50.

What does this include?
This offer includes a one-hour guided tour, hosted by local Storytellers, which will walk you and your ‘Da’ through the life of the former St. James Church and how it came to be Pearse Lyons Distillery. Our Storytellers will regale you and ‘Pops’ with intriguing tales dating back to the 12th Century before you enter the distillery to smell, touch and taste each step of the whiskey distilling process. Here, you and the ‘old man’ will have the opportunity to chat with our distillers and see first-hand how to produce some of the finest Irish Whiskey Dublin has to offer.

Taste four unique Pearse Irish Whiskeys

That’s not all, at our tasting bar, Pearse’s Place, you will have the opportunity to taste four unique Irish Whiskeys; Pearse Original, a grain and malt whiskey blend aged in bourbon casks for 3-5 years. Pearse Distiller’s Choice, a blend of grain and malt whiskey aged in bourbon and sherry casks for 4-9 years. Pearse Founder’s Choice, a distinctive 12-year old single malt and finally Pearse Cooper’s Select, a grain and malt whiskey originally ages in bourbon casks and re-casked in Oloroso sherry casks to create a full flavoured special finish.

Wait, there’s more! You and ‘the auld fella’ can then both enjoy a signature TPL cocktail to toast Fatherhood and to the fact that, there is no one quite like your Dad!

(And if you want to keep walking down memory lane then you can pop into our local, McCann’s Bar). This offer is available to purchase online up until June 17 and is valid until July 31, 2019.

However, if time is of the essence, you can pick up a gift card or a bottle of our finest Pearse Irish Whiskey from our visitor centre. For more information please contact info@pearselyonsdistillery.com or call us on +353 (0) 1 6916000.

As part of National Heritage Week, visit Pearse Lyons Distillery where you can view our free exhibition on the lives of those buried in our 800 year old graveyard. Discover the many fascinating stories of tradesmen and women from The Liberties, Dublin and their adventures at home and abroad. From soldiers who fought in the Civil War or earned a Victoria Cross in New Zealand there are countless incredible tales to discover. Whether they were making boots, biscuits, brews or overseeing the humble beginnings of the Irish Whiskey phenomenon, our ancient burial site is home to men, women and children who helped to put Dublin on the map of industry and invention.

The exhibition is in the reception foyer of our visitor centre, open from 9:30am to 5pm (11:30am on Sundays). You can make the most of your visit by booking one of our whiskey tasting experiences and touring the inside of our renovated St. James Church that now houses our boutique, working distillery. The tour includes the 800 year old graveyard surrounding the church and much of the local history of The Liberties, Dublin.

Best Dublin Visitor Experience 2019

Dublin’s only boutique distillery showcases the Dublin promise of a vibrant city coexisting side by side with nature

After overcoming stiff competition from some of the best the Dublin tourism industry has to offer, Pearse Lyons Distillery has been awarded Best Dublin Visitor Experience for a business with fewer than 100,000 visitors annually at the 2019 Irish Tourism Industry Awards.

Notably, the award recognized the distillery’s tours and tasting experiences, both of which showcase high standards of excellence in hospitality and customer service. The distillery’s original submission for the award highlighted the importance of promoting Dublin as a vibrant city coexisting side by side with nature while enhancing incremental tourism activity. It also illustrated the distillery’s economic contribution to the Liberties in Dublin.

The awards, which take place every two years, are organised by the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC), Fáilte Ireland, Tourism Ireland and industry partners. The awards celebrate excellence, innovation and success within tourism, Ireland’s largest indigenous sector, which employs 270,000 people throughout the country. This year’s competition for the Best Dublin Visitor Experience award included Glasnevin Cemetery Museum, Fab Food Trails, Ericsson Skyline Tour at Croke Park and 14 Henrietta Street.

“The distillery team are honoured to receive such an award,” said Tracey Flinter, general manager of Pearse Lyons Distillery. “Our first 17 months in business have shown us the true potential of our unique tourism offering. Our storytellers are passionate, experienced and knowledgeable in the history of the site and all things whiskey, and we pride ourselves on offering small, personable tours in a working distillery.

“Our distillery and visitor centre at the former St. James’ Church and graveyard allow us to showcase the new, vibrant life of the Liberties in Dublin while combining our own distinctive history with the stories of the area’s culture and fascinating past,” continued Flinter. “I like to describe our experience as 50 percent history and 50 percent whiskey. If you are a history enthusiast or a whiskey connoisseur, you’ll be sure to enjoy Pearse Lyons Distillery.”

The boutique distillery, which was the brainchild of the late Pearse Lyons and his wife, Deirdre Lyons, co-founder and director of corporate image and design at Alltech, opened its doors to the public in August 2017. The four-year refurbishment and renovation saw more than €22 million invested in the site, which has welcomed more than 30,000 visitors to date.
